Karen Kissler, Co-Founder, Head Instructor/Trainer
As a child, Karen dreamed of being around horses. She took her first group lesson at age 11 in 1979. She wanted more horse time, but it had to wait until she finished her undergraduate degree. While Karen worked her way up the corporate ladder in an IT company, she took lessons, leased horses, and competed until horse owners started hiring her to train and compete their horses in Eventing and combined training. By 1997, Karen was teaching and training full-time. In 2005, Karen honed in her training to Dressage and in 2011 purchased the current facility and created Kissler Dressage. Karen continues her training and education with Britta Johnston and actively competes as a professional rider.

Teresa Pilegaard, Co-Founder, Program Manager, Assistant Instructor, Working towards PATH Certification.
Teresa grew up loving horses and riding weekly, but didn't have the chance to ride more intently until 2017 as she was busy raising two children and working for local farms. In 2017 the Pilegaard family added two horses to their clan to aid their children in therapeutic riding. Blue was purchased from Karen and Teresa aided Karen in his training. The dream of opening an adaptive riding center took shape and both horses now reside at Kissler Dressage to aid people of all abilities in their equestrian activities. Teresa continues to train under Karen.
